After months of market research, the members of
Hi
Temp saw a
niche in the market where they could offer their quality range of solar
heating products close to home in Ballito business park. |

Glen Symes has a diverse career history. Starting his career as an
Electronics engineer in the late 70’s moving into the plastic injection moulding field in the mid 80’s. The 90’s proved to be a decade off
success in the development of the Aquatek & Kleenwater Salt water
Chlorination systems he manufactured. In the new millennium he embarked in a
joint business with his son Dominic Symes whereby Hi Temp Solar Heating
and Home Technologies was founded. Glen is a dedicated person with a hands
on approach to ensuring that the customer gets the best solar option
available in South Africa. |

Erich Gericke
has a diverse background in the chemical, manufacturing
and health and safety fields. He started his career in 1983 with a BSc
in chemistry, biochemistry and genetics and has been involved in the
development and construction of many products ranging from water
purification systems to explosives and luxury yachts. His awareness of
environmental matters has been enhanced by working with conservation
organisations in many locations worldwide which highlighted the impact
of humans on our environment. This led to a strong desire to make a
difference and ultimately to his involvement in the solar industry. His
aim is to provide practical, highly efficient and sustainable solutions
to the customer. |

Dominic Symes started his career at Metalbox Bevcan Division Cape Town
as a toolmaker and mechanical engineering (NTC5) in the early 90’s.
After qualifying he gained experience at SANS (South African Nylon
Spinners) in the mechanical workshop and finally managing the Chrome
Plating plant before leaving for the United Kingdom to work in the
Information Technology field. In 1999 he and his father started solar
business which included the manufacturing of various parts for the HT50
Hi Temp Solar panel and the importation of Titanium heat pumps and
evacuated solar tube panels. Dominic’s drive is to offer affordable
solar solutions for all! |
